My Glacier Village, in partnership with Western Pleasure Tours, would like to invite the community to join them as they celebrate National Older Americans Month in May.  The Village is hosting a FLIP THE SCRIPT ON AGING COFFEE AND CONVERSATIONS EVENT - Monday, May 5, 2025, at Black Rifle Coffee at 10:30 am.  Everyone is welcome to stop by for coffee and tasty BRCC treats, door prizes, and lively conversations. 

 

Every May, the Administration for Community Living (ACL) leads the nation’s observance of Older Americans Month (OAM), which is a time to recognize older Americans' contributions, highlight aging trends, and reaffirm our commitment to serving older adults. The 2025 theme, Flip the Script on Aging, focuses on transforming how society perceives, talks about, and approaches aging. It encourages individuals and communities to challenge stereotypes and dispel misconceptions. Everyone is welcome to join My Glacier Village along with their event sponsor, Western Pleasure Tours, in honoring older adults’ contributions, exploring the many opportunities for staying active and engaged as we age, and highlighting the opportunities for purpose, exploration, and connection that come with aging.

 

My Glacier Village is a local chapter of the nationwide Village-to-Village Network that began on the East Coast in 2002. Our local Village was literally created BY seniors, FOR seniors - older adults who want to stay active and engaged in their community and know they can rely on each other when they need a little help,” according to Jenn Prunty, the Village's Aging-In-Place Specialist. 

 

COFFEE & CONVERSATIONS offers an opportunity to explore a wide range of aging experiences with other like-minded adults and consider the importance of enjoying independence and fulfillment by paving our own paths as we age.” said Prunty, adding that, ‘It is also an occasion to discuss significant aging trends and challenge the narrative on aging for today’s senior citizens.
